Boat carrying Migrants to Europe sinks in Libyan sea coast - 100+ dead

It has been reported that a boat filled with over 250 migrants heading to Europe sunk on the coast of Libya and many passengers have died from the wreck.

The spoke person for the Libyan navy Ayub Qassem said only 26 people have been rescued so far ,the boat sunk near Tajoura east of the capital Tripoli, He said there are many dead bodies floating in the sea and efforts to rescue the few survivals have been slow due to under equipped coast guard and lack of resources.

Its a known fact that Migrants have been flooding into Europe especially into Italy through Libya on boats over the years. This year only, about 100,000 migrants have reached the Italian shores, in a statement released by the Italian government last week.

Due to political instability in Libya many Human traffickers explore the lack of security and carry people through fishing boats endangering lives on a day to day basics, this is the second accident in two months since that of August which also claimed many lives.
