It has been reported that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich tabled a stunning bid to tempt Barcelona
star Lionel Messi to Stamford Bridge during the recently concluded transfer window.
Chelsea submitted a bid of £120mil for the four times world player of the year over the summer, Mourinho who encouraged the bid wanted to try his luck in getting the Barcelona star man with this huge offer.
Barcelona rejected the bid as they are not willing to part with their most prized asset and went further in offering Messi a new deal to keep him at the now camp till 2018, Chelsea who made over £80m in the last transfer wanted to use this opportunity to lure Messi to the Premier League without breaking FIFA Financial Fair Play laws.
